Have you ever gone to check the precious digital photos you had on a DVD or memory stick from years ago only to discover that they are gone, they are corrupt or you can't open them anymore? This is a more common problem than you might think however there is an answer. Thetechnologyguru will take a copy of your data and store it permanently offline (so it cannot be hacked, attached by viruses or corrupted in any way) for retrieval whenever you have the need for it. There are many ways that we help our customers with this service. We have been providing video copying services for years where we copy videos from many formats to memory stick. Many of our customers choose to Snowball copies of their video's just in case they were to lose them or needed new copies for friends or family. We actually have a real example in the Testimonials section below of how we helped a customer which I am sure will agree is quite an eye opener!

 

Some other ways that this service is useful to our clients is for the storing of critical business data. We also have clients that nominate a Next of Kin so that important information can be passed on - both in terms of family videos and important documentation containing vital information the event of our clients passing away. There are various cloud services available for this today, however these can be costly and difficult to set up and maintain. One of the big advantages of our service is that should we store data for a client we can provide some context to the next of kin should our clients data need to be passed on.

 

Thetechnologyguru Snowball keeps two copies of this data for you along with next of kin details so if data is ever lost and needs to be retrieved we can arrange easy retrieval to either a memory stick to be sent to you or your family.

 

  • We work with you to understand what data you need Thetechnologyguru to Snowball. We send out a USB drive for you to write your data to.
  • You then post the data back to us. We transfer the data onto two drives and we store one of the drives in a secondary location for additional protection.
  • The cost of this service is set at £2.50 per 100GB Snowballed per month and is set up as a handy monthly direct debit.
  • Should you need any or all of your data we can arrange it to be sent out to you on a USB drive. All you need to do is cover a low-cost retrieval fee and the cost of posting out and returning the drive.

STEP 3: We send out the drive for you to upload the data - or alternatively we create an online shared drive to upload your data to.

 

STEP 4: We confirm when we have your data and when it has been Snowballed.

 

STEP 5: When the time arrives for your data to be retrieved we can arrange this for you.
