We have been converting videos, DVD's and memory sticks for the last 2 years. We have brought a smile to so many peoples faces - giving them the opportunity to view old family videos which had not seen the light of day for years.

This is a service to convert your home videos of multiple formats to either DVD, Memory Stick, or Dropbox Cloud Drive. We now convert the following formats:

 

 

VHS Tape - the traditional tape used in many households to record their programmes.

 

 

VHS-C Tape - A format compatible with VHS, often used in camcorders for family recordings

Hi8 Analogue - A really popular format in the late 90's early 2000's which replaced VHS-C as the popular option for home videos. These tapes really kicked off the popularity of home videos!

Hi8 Digital - Hi8 Analogue evolved in favour of Hi8 Digital. We cater for the conversion of both formats - so if you don't know which type you have - we've got you covered!

 

 

MiniDV - These are dinky little tapes and were popular as a modernised VHS format.

 

Mini DVD - These are mini DVD's which were due to their size became popular as a replacement for tape-based camcorders.

 

 

Camcorder & Camera Memory Sticks - These used to come in various formats to store pictures and video's

 

8mm Cine Film (Standard) - We convert 8MM Standard Cine too. We can add background music or a cine sound to the media in order to give it an authentic feel.

 

We offer collection from the GU postcode for this service which includes delivery of the tapes and chosen media to the door. We do this safely and effectively.

How It Works

 

STEP 1: Order your service from our online store. There are 4x options available and collection is available from the GU postcode which will be added at the end.

 

STEP 2: Thetechnologyguru will make contact via email or phone to arrange a suitable collection time and date. We will also cover the details of whether the transfer should be to a Memory stick, DVD or Cloud.

 

STEP 3: Collection Takes place.

 

STEP 4: Conversion takes place. We convert the tape to the media of your choice as defined in step 2.

 

STEP 5: Delivery of the finished media and the tapes is arranged for a convenient time.

The current formats we cover are outlined above however as we grow the business we will look to expand into other formats! All you have to do is order your service based on the number of tapes, we’ll convert the tapes to your chosen format for you, then we’ll deliver back your digital media along with your originals.

 

Working with Thetechnologyguru is a reliable and budget-friendly way to convert your media. We’ll never charge you for blank tapes, and bulk orders qualify for significant discounts!

 

You’ll always know the status of your tapes, and if there’s anything wrong with the footage, our technicians can repair most problems. We can convert your tapes to DVD, USB, or the Cloud, and we keep backups for 30 days after your order is complete, just in case.

 

Once your conversions are complete, the last thing you would want would be to lose your converted videos should someone accidentally delete information on the drive. Thetechnologyguru works with Dropbox to provide a second copy of your data. We provide this Free of Charge for a month after your conversion has completed and we offer a small fee (depending on the size of the data converted) to store your data in the cloud so that we can recover the information for you onto a new hard drive or DVD's if needed.
